Cleator Moor Celtic 3 - 1 Workington Reserves
Pre-season Friendly
Tue 4th August 2009
This was a game that even though they lost, will do the Reds Reserves more good than harm.
The Reds set off well for the first 25 minutess with Stefan Scott and Levi Johnson looking very lively up front and not letting the Celtic defenders settle.
The physically stronger Celtic team started to gradually get on top.
The Reserves got caught out when they only partially cleared a corner. No Reds player was defending the edge of the box which allowed Eddie Holiday too much time and he duly scored into the bottom corner of the net giving Celtic the lead.
Stefan Scott had a great shot fantastically saved by Grant Carson duplicating saving from Scott earlier in the half.
Celtic scored again in the exact same fashion as their first, with the defence not closin down on the edge of their own box.
With the score at 2 - 0 at half time Reds manager made five personnel changes and a formation change producing a much improved performance in the second half.
