Clitheroe Reserves 4 - 0 Workington Reserves
Thu 22nd April 2009
This was a game where the scoreline certainly didn't reflect the game with Workington having a chance in the first 2 minutes and the Clitheroe goakeeper in unbeatable form all night making several outstanding saves.
Clitheroe's front two were lively and quick and causing the Reds centre-halfs problems early on.
Two slack back headers gifted Clitheroe a two nil lead but Workington still pressed.
Clitheroe's 3rd goal was a terrific strike from outside the box which gave Luke Jackson in thye Reds goal no chance.
Luke had already made two outstanding saves in the first half.
The second half saw Workington come out of the blocks a diifferent team and on chances created gave Clitheroe all sorts of problems by getting the ball wide and they struck the woodwork twice as well as having the ball cleared off the Clitheroe goal line twice.
Clitheroe eventually scored again to make it 4 - 0 but a more true reflection of the game was probably 4 - 2.
Still the Workington lads enjoyed the game in which Clitheroe fielded four first team players.
The Reserves now move on to their last game of the season which is away tie at Leigh on Wednesday 29th of April.
