Curzon Ashton Reserves 2 - 2 Workington Reserves
Saturday 24th April 2010
Playing their third Lancashire League game in five days, Steve Lee’s plucky youngsters left The Tameside Stadium with mixed feelings. Obviously delighted to collect a point from a team that won easily at Borough Park last month , they were left to contemplate on what might have been after the hosts scored a stoppage time equaliser.
|
Martin Rossi |
Curzon reached the interval one goal to the good when a deflected shot deceived Reds’ ‘keeper, Lee Jolly. |
Simon Bragg |
Martin Rossi equalised early in the second half with his first goal for the club and Reds got their noses in front when Simon Bragg emulated Rossi by scoring his first goal of the season.
It looked as though they were going to obtain a rare success on the road until Curzon grabbed that dramatic late, late equaliser aided, once again, by a deflection.
Reds Reserves play their final home game (v. Fleetwood Town) on Monday.
