Cain Pears RIP

It is with deep sadness that we report the passing of local footballer, Cain Pears, who was killed in a single vehicle collision on the A595 in the early hours of Monday morning.

Cain, 20, spent three seasons with the Development squad between 2021 and 2024, scoring sixteen goals in nearly sixty appearances in Reds’ colours.

Four of his goals, including a hat-trick, came in the Cumberland Cup at Borough Park when Cain helped Reds to victories against Dearham United and Unisun Athletic during the ’23-24 campaign.

The Club sends condolences to Cain’s family and friends at this particularly sad time.
