Recap
The young Reds completed their first season in the JPL with a top three finish and a quarter final exit in the League Cup – a commendable effort, overall.
Their final match of the season finished all square against a team they had beaten twice this season at home – in both league and cup.
But they had to settle for a point on this occasion.
Reds were good in possession but created very little in front of goal and it was the hosts who opened the scoring to lead at half-time.
It was a similar story after the break and Joe Rumney kept Reds in the game with a fine save preventing, the home side from doubling their lead.
But they salvaged a point following a well-worked set piece routine. Joe Douglas delivered a free-kick towards the far post, Harrison Telford headed back across the face of goal and Brad Keenam tapped in from close range for the equaliser.
Reds almost pinched a win late in the game but Alex Hodgson squandered a good opportunity and a point apiece was probably the right outcome.
