March to Borough Park update

As we look back at the first game of our March to Borough Park campaign we must comment on yesterday’s amazing crowd.

When the fixtures are released the game against FC United is one you look out for. The FC fans always travel in decent numbers which adds to the atmosphere in the ground and of course swells the coffers.

To have it coincide with our March promotions, add in the planned demolition of part of our historic stadium and all this provided an excellent opportunity to build a crowd.

Plenty of hard work behind the scenes from the Social Media teams made a huge difference and we were rewarded by 1193 of you coming through the turnstiles on a fine but chilly day. Absolutely brilliant and we can’t thank you enough.

So a few facts and figures from yesterday. Of that 1193 we estimate around 120 travelled to support our visitors. Fair play to them and thank you.

We had over 20 Ground hoppers visit us yesterday. The planned changes to the stadium have created great interest on the various non league social media groups and yesterday we had visitors from Southend, North Wales and Shropshire to name but a few.

Our Grassroots football day was extremely well supported with 202 children and parents taking advantage of the admission offers. Many visiting Borough Park for the first time. A huge success all round.

We also noted several Carlisle Utd fans among our number, taking advantage of their team having played on Thursday night. One told us it was 30yrs since his last visit to Borough Park!

It would be remiss not to mention a full sponsors lounge yesterday, thank you to our sponsors Graham’s Plumbing Supplies and MPL Motor Factors for your continued support.

We can’t end this little look back without mentioning our Borough Park regulars. Tremendous support as ever.

Yesterday wasn’t a one off, we have more promotions and offers coming up throughout March, watch out for the next one being announced tomorrow.
