MATCH PREVIEW: Hyde pride
Hyde United hold the bragging rights in terms of previous matches against Workington and is now fourteen years, and eight encounters, since Reds last tasted victory in this fixture.
That was back in August 2010 when Reds emerged 3-2 winners at Walker Lane in a Blue Square Bet North match. Workington’s scorers that evening were David Hewson, Jonny Wright and Phil McLuckie,
Since then, we have mustered a couple of draws and suffered six defeats including a trio of losses last season – a league double and an exit from the Trophy.

In twenty Northern Premier League meetings, Hyde have won twelve times compared to four Workington victories although, under the Conference North banner, we won six of fourteen matches completed with Hyde successful on two occasions.
In knock-out competition, we have beaten them once in the FA Cup and they recorded victory in the one Trophy meeting.
Overall, we have played each other thirty-six times with Hyde recording fifteen wins, Reds successful on eleven occasions with ten games resulting in a draw.
Last season they finished a commendable 6th and just missing out on the play-offs will make them even more determined to get a top five berth this time around. They are currently 8th and have 19 points from their twelve matches.
They are out of both Cup and Trophy so can fully concentrate on league matters, now, although their recent form has been rather erratic.
Jack Redshaw, a thorn in our side last season, has scored eight goals so far and leads a scoring chart which already includes ten different Hyde players.
Mark Fell will hope to welcome a fit Jamie Allen back to the squad after an exhausting week of travel whilst on international duty.
Kick-off at The Project Solar Stadium on Saturday is 3pm.
