MATCH PREVIEW: The last away day

Reds take to the road for the final time this season when they head to the north east to complete their away programme at Morpeth Town (3pm).

Buoyed by the welcome win over Prescot Cables on Saturday, the team will be hoping to register a first NPL victory at Craik Park and improve what has been a moderate record on the road this season.

Only the relegated trio of Basford United, Mickleover and Blyth Spartans have collected fewer than Reds tally of 14 points from twenty matches.

It will be the third meeting of the season with Reds knocking The Highwaymen out of the Trophy back in October before the teams shared four goals in the league encounter on Boxing Day.

They are currently 8th in the table, compared to a 13th place finish twelve months ago, although their home record has been less consistent than their results on the road.  They have amassed thirty five points in their twenty away games, twelve more than on their own 4G pitch.

Brian Dawson was hoping that Ruben Grewal and Tom Stephenson could be added to the squad after missing out on Saturday’s victory.

Town drew at Stockton Town at the weekend and four of their last six matches have ended all square.
