MATCH PREVIEW: Third time lucky?

Reds will be back on the M6 on Tuesday as they travel for the re-arranged Premier Division fixture at Bamber Bridge (7.45pm).

The match was postponed back in January but now becomes a crucial fixture for both clubs who are hovering above the relegation trapdoor.  They go into the match level on 33 points but ’Brig do have a game in hand.

It will be the third meeting of the season and, having already won twice at Borough Park, ‘Brig will be hoping to complete a treble at Reds’ expense.

They won the league encounter in September thanks to goals from Lucas Weaver and Jeff Adubofour before knocking us out of the Trophy a month later.  Weaver scored again in the second meeting after Michael Potts and Simon Grand had given them a two-goal advantage by half time.

Reds actually completed a treble over ‘Brig twenty years ago when a league double and an FA Cup victory saw Workington register their only victories at Irongate.

This will be the sixteenth league meeting between the clubs and Reds have just four wins to their credit compared to Bamber Bridge’s eight successes.

Manager Mark Fell has agreed a loan signing for a holding midfielder/defender and, subject to the paperwork being completed, he will go straight into the squad.
