NEWS: SQUAD UPDATE

Over the past few weeks there have been some comings and goings within the Reds squad. As announced on Friday, Charlie Barnes is our latest addition, and he is expected to be the first of a flurry of new faces in the next few days and weeks.

Midfielder Ruben Grewal also returns to the Reds after a few weeks away on trial with another Club. As announced earlier today, we’re delighted that Ruben has committed to Workington for the rest of the 24/25 season, with an option for the Club to extend his stay into 2025/26, and it was great to see him back at Borough Park, and on the scoresheet, yesterday!

The Club can report that Tom Wilkinson has been released from his contract to enable him to take up a playing scholarship in the USA, we wish Tom all the best for the future. We can also confirm Brad Hubbold’s retirement from this level of football; Brad had several spells with the Reds and brought the curtain down on a great non-league career due to a new job and personal reasons. Again, we thank him for his commitment to the Club and wish him and his family all the best.

Supporters will have seen Theo Farquarson has signed for Kerry in Ireland, and Amadou Doumbouya has been released to allow him to gain more game time elsewhere.

The injury list has started to subside, and there is some positive news that David Norris and Josh Galloway are both expected to return to fitness in February, with Tyler Beck remaining as the only long term absentee.
