Recap
A free weekend in the JPL programme enabled Reds to host Kendal Town in a mid-season friendly at Borough Park.
And, in an entertaining game, Reds emerged deserved 3-1 winners.
They opened the scoring midway through the first half when Harley Edmondson met a free-kick at the far post and forced the ball past the Kendal ‘keeper.
The visitors had a good spell at the start of the second half and equalised with a well taken Joe Redmayne goal. The same player nearly scored again but, fortunately for Workington, his low shot hit the post and the ball was scrambled clear.
The hosts regained the initiative and a sweet Brad Keenan strike restored the narrow advantage.
Then a fine strike from Kelvin Amor secured the win just before the end.
The young Reds are back in league action this week and will be hoping to consolidate top spot in their JPL division.
